Richard Edelson, M.D.
CMO / Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Richard Edelson is head team physician and medical director for the Portland Timbers. A graduate with departmental honors and distinction from Stanford University, he earned his MD and a Masters Degree in Pathology from the Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Edelson trained as an orthopedic surgeon at the University of Utah, and completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where he assisted in care of the Cleveland Browns, The Cleveland Cavaliers, and various local college and high school teams. He has been the head team physician for the Portland Beavers AAA baseball team, and a consultant for Nike sports medicine. Dr. Edelson focuses on knee and shoulder injuries and specializes in arthroscopic surgery. He enjoys golf, skiing, and working out.
Karl Kaluza, M.D.
Dr. Kaluza specializes is Sports Medicine, and his sub-specialties include Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulation.
He attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences, his residency took place at Eastmoreland General Hospital, where he also interned, and his fellowship took place at Michigan State University.
Dr. Kaluza’s clinical interests include Arthritis, Asthma, Attention Deficit Adult, Attention Deficit Child, Back and Spinal Problems, Circumcision, DOT Physicals, Family Practice, Nutrition, Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, Sports Medicine, and Travel Medicine.
